Noridian Electronic Remittance Advice - If you are currently receiving Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) from Noridian for a Medicare or Blue Plan listed below, you MUST go into Total Onboarding (TOB) and sign-up for ERA for ANSI 5010. If you do not sign up for ANSI 5010 ERA in TOB then you will begin receiving paper EOB’s starting 01-01-2012. The paper EOB’s will have to be manually posted within your Practice Management System. See Instructions. Please contact our Support Center at 1-877-565-5457 if you need help with Total Onboarding. Medicare:

**NEW**HeW Perspective 2011 4th Quarter is Released |
| 09/21/2011 | - |
Beginning September 23, 2011, HeW is updating the naming convention of ERA files - replacing the Julian date with the actual calendar date. |
| 09/20/2011 | - |
Beginning October 10, 2011, Aetna will provide their ERAs in the ANSI 5010 version only. What does this mean for you? If you are currently importing ERA files into your practice management software, HeW recommends that you contact your PMS to verify that you can start importing ANSI 5010 835 files. Those that are using Medicare's free ERA reader "Medicare Remit Easy Print" may need to run an update to your version if you have difficulty importing your Aetna ERA files after October 10, 2011. If you have any questions, please contact our Support Center 877-463-8705, Monday through Friday, 6 am to 6 pm. |

This is the second of two ANSI 5010 testing days announced by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Many providers are receiving notification of these dates and wondering if HeW is ready. HeW (Health-e-Web & ET&T) has been testing for months and will be testing not only on August 24th but dates afterward as well. However, CMS’ Help Desk will be available to providers on August 24th to answer questions on what changes do affect them. HeW also has placed an 11 page 5010 Claim Changes document that consolidates what changes will affect providers. Please note that HeW has the technology to create custom scrubs/edits that can assist practices that may not be able to make the changes necessary. In addition, HeW has received the EHNAC 5010 Readiness Certification showing our preparation for this industry change. If you have any questions, our Support Center is available from 6 am to 6 pm Mountain time Monday through Friday. We welcome your questions. |
